ParentSquare

Information for parents

Parents do not need to sign up for a ParentSquare account. ParentSquare works with the SchoolTool Parent Portal and pulls your information from SchoolTool into ParentSquare. Therefore, it is essential that all of your contact information in SchoolTool is accurate. We cannot give parent access to an outside ParentSquare account. Only individuals with contact information in SchoolTool will receive notifications from ParentSquare.

ParentSquare FAQ

We realize that moving to a new school information system can be overwhelming for some. See this document for Frequently asked questions about ParentSquare.

How Green Island uses ParentSquare

The ParentSquare system is a way the Green Island Union Free School District communicates with parents and community members about events and emergency situations. The type of communication will depend on the type of situation.

Posts

Posts are sent via email and also posted within the ParentSquare system, accessible by smartphone app or desktop computer. Parents can choose to receive posts immediately or in a ‘digest’ function.

Email

Email will be the primary form of communication through ParentSquare. Email will be used to communicate school-level and district-wide events that are non-emergency in nature. Emergency alerts will be sent via email in conjunction with other forms of communication.

Text messages (SMS)

Text messages (SMS) will only be used in emergency situations or situations where schools are closed. Only parents who have signed up for text alerts will receive text alerts. Text messages may also be sent for time-sensitive situations.

Phone calls

Phone calls will only be used in emergency situations.
