On Tuesday, April 23, Green Island Union Free School District held a College and Career Fair for Grades 7-12.
School Counselor Nicole Labate organized the fair with creative ways to keep students engaged, including a “Career Fair Bingo” and a College Questions sheet that helped students find answers crucial to their interest in attending a particular school.
Over 20 organizations and jobs were represented, including the US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Air Force, NY National Guard, Labcorp, Luizzi Co, Broadview FCU, The Village of Green Island, New York State Alternate Assessment, Green Island Fire Department, Ernst & Young, Albany County Sheriff’s Office, Albany County Corrections, Albany County Civil Service, Albany County Water Purification District, NYS Justice Center Investigations, Carpenters Local 291, Sprinkler Fitters Local 669, BURT Crane & Rigging, Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, and Anthem Blue Cross at Elevance Health Insurance.
