Dear Heatly families,
Summer has flown by! It is hard to believe that we are already sending out information about the start of the school year.
The first day of school, student orientation day, is Thursday, Sept 7th. In an effort to support and transition all our Heatly students, Sept 7th will be a half day for all learners. On Sept 7th, the student day will begin at 8:05 AM and end at 11:30 AM. The period schedule will be amended to accommodate the first day of school pattern. Students will meet their teacher and learn the classroom procedures and schedule. Friday, September 8th will commence the regular school schedule: Breakfast is from 7:30-8:00 AM, and the instructional day begins at 8:05 AM.
We are happy to announce that the district will provide grades PreK-6 their basic school supplies including pencils, crayons, notebooks, and folders. Parents are asked to provide a backpack for their child. Grades 7-12 will receive their school supply list via ParentSquare soon!
Green Island UFSD has partnered with Watervliet City Schools to provide free school meals to all students for the 2023-24 school year.
Starting school for our youngest learners can be exciting. The district still has several seats available for PreK students. The sooner students can integrate into their academic journey, the better outlook they have throughout their academic career! Contact Angela Legault for registration information. PreK-Kindergarten orientation and open house ice cream social will be Wednesday, September 6 from 2 PM-4 PM.
Our 21st Century After School Program will officially start on Monday, Sept 18. More information will be provided during the first week of school.
We cannot wait to welcome all our Heatly Learners back to school on Thursday, September 7th! If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Main Office at (518) 273-1422.
We hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer break and see you soon!
